Easton City Administrator Glenn Steckman said Wednesday the city will take $1.2 million from its general fund and more from its health insurance fund to meet Sunday's deadline to pay Carin Sollman.
Sollman's husband Jesse was accidentally shot by another officer in the police station after a March 2005 training exercise.
The city is taking out a $3 million loan to repay its accounts. The remainder of the $5 million settlement is due Dec. 31.
Easton's insurer is appealing a court's decision that it must cover the cost of the settlement.
