The 33-foot-high statue had been in the back yard of a Long Island, N.Y. house.
The current owners say the statue was there when they bought the home and now they're moving.
The family has donated the 100-year-old statue to the Town of North Hempstead.
A crew of movers spent six hours yesterday dismantling the massive artwork.
They say it will take at least another day to remove the limestone pedestal.
The statue is a copy of the "Horses of Marly" on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
