A Kent County grand jury indicted Dereke and Jeanne Moore on charges of first-degree murder by abuse or neglect, endangering the welfare of a child and abusing a corpse on Monday.
The Moores were originally accused of dumping the body of a stillborn child.
But court records state Jeanne Moore told police that after she gave birth at their home on Nov. 7, they let the newborn stay in the water in the toilet until it was dead. Authorities say Dereke Moore put the newborn's body in a trash bin at the Dover Hampton Inn where he worked. It was found there two days later.
