Lenox, Dansk and Gorham for less

At the Lenox Factory Outlet in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, a four-piece placesetting of Kate Spade Sag Harbor china that originally sold for $69 is priced at $17.25.

A Dansk chip and dip set that was $100, is priced at $29.95. And a set of Pooh caroler figurines that was $126, is just $31.25.

The warehouse has row after row of shelves filled with Lenox and Gorham china and flatware, giftware, and more. And though some are marked "Second Quality", it's hard to find anything with visible flaws.

Most of what ends up here is surplus inventory.

"In many cases, where you see "Second Quality," you'd be very hard-pressed to find what the defect is," explains Lenox Head of Design Tim Carder. "In many instances, there's very little defective ware here. It's more a case of things that have not sold."

"I love the sales," says Nancy Castrenze of Galloway Township, New Jersey. "This is very special. I come for Christmas items and their monthly items and you just can't beat it."

Castrenze is a regular. She's on the mailing list and shops the aisles with her coupon postcards and sale circulars in hand.

"I tell my family, when they don't want Lenox anymore for Christmas, I'm done giving gifts for Christmas."

Collectors can find all sorts of Department 56 sets -- including Sesame Street figurines -- at 50% to 60% off retail. It's a great place to find wedding gifts. We found Gorham flatware, and picture frames, along with a beautiful Lenox vase -- all at 70% off.

"There's a lot of very savvy people that come into the warehouse on a very regular basis," Carder says. "They'll start collecting, they'll find a pattern they like , that they gravitate towards, and they'll keep browsing month after month, until they've filled a whole set."

The Lenox Factory Warehouse is located at 2606 Fire Road in Egg Harbor Township.
