Coroner: Leg found in Pa. belonged to NJ teen

EASTON, Pa. - February 3, 2010

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek says tests show the leg discovered by a fisherman in June belonged to 18-year-old Brian Lynch of Phillipsburg, N.J.

Lynch disappeared after jumping off a railroad bridge that spans the Delaware from Bangor to Knowlton Township, N.J. on Memorial Day. Lysek issued a death certificate for Lynch, calling the injury not survivable.

Lysek said Tuesday that DNA samples taken from the leg matched samples taken from Lynch's mother.
