Snow collapses roof of Delaware school cafeteria

SEAFORD, Del. - February 10, 2010

Seaford City Manager Dolores Slatcher says the collapse occurred about 4 a.m. Wednesday at West Seaford Elementary School.

Slatcher says the school was empty at the time and no one was reported injured.

The roof collapsed at the Townsend Fire Department shortly before 10:30 am. The department is located at 107 Main Street in Townsend, Delaware. Firefighters and trucks were evacuated. No injuries have been reported.

In Milford, the roof of a Big Lots store on Route 113, has collapsed according to Delaware Emergency Management. No word on any injuries.

The roof collapsed at a business in the Scerni Industrial Park in the 2800 block of Ogletown Road in Newark, Delaware. The fire department responded around 8:30 to make sure the power was secured. The building was not occupied at the time of the collapse.

The roof of a barn collapsed on Daisey Road in Gumboro, Sussex County around 8:30 this morning. Two horses in the barn were taken out alive by firefighters. No details on whether the horses were injured.
