Roof of Rite Aid store collapses in Delaware

WILMINGTON - February 11, 2010

The store is located in the F&N Shopping Village at Foulk and Naamans Roads in Wilmington, Delaware.

Firefighters responded to a water flow alarm around 6:00 p.m. and arrived to discover the roof collapse had damaged the sprinkler system sending water flowing through the store.

There are 11 stores in the strip shopping center, including an Acme Supermarket. Any occupants were evacuated and the stores were closed while awaiting structural evaluation.

Delmarva Power and the water department were called to the scene to secure electric and water service.
