Snow and ice remain problems on many local roads two days after a major storm battered the state. Plows and spreaders continue to try to clear streets.
About 9,500 customers don't have electricity statewide. Of those, about 7,500 are Atlantic City Electric customers. Most of them are in Cape May County and the utility is trying to reconnect those who have been without service the longest.
Jersey Central Power & Light has under 2,000 homes and businesses without service. Most are in the Monmouth County town of Brielle.
The utilities are getting help from line crews from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.
Forecasters say another winter storm is possible late Monday into Tuesday.
