Police: Cars broken into during snowstorm

GLASGOW, Del. - February 12, 2010

It happened in the unit block of Dan Street in Glasgow, Delaware Wednesday night.

Thomas Barnhart Jr. says his wife came out around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to go to work, only to find her car window smashed.

"I came out, looked at her car, and it was broke out. I looked at mine, and it was broke out, so we called the police," Barnhart said.

New Castle County Police say they received reports of four thefts from vehicles there.

Items stolen include CD players, car stereos, MP3 players and loose change.

Also taken was Barnhart's diabetes medication, which he says he accidentally left in his vehicle.

Police say they also received two reports of criminal mischief to vehicles at that location, where cars were damaged but nothing was stolen.
