As cleanup continues, more snow approaches

PHILADELPHIA - February 14, 2010

Many streets in Philadelphia's neighborhoods remain clogged with snow and pockmarked with ruts in the ice from drivers spinning their wheels trying to get unstuck.

City streets crews are working round-the-clock trying to clear as many streets as possible before the next snow. Overnight, the Action Cam caught up with people on one team as they were working on Frankford Avenue in the Northeast.

With plenty of snow still on the streets, and more expected early this week, Philadelphia officials are stressing the city's snow shoveling laws.

According to city code, within 6 hours after the snow has stopped, a path on all sidewalks must be cleared. That path must be at least 30 inches wide and cleared of snow and ice.

If you live in an apartment building, be sure to check with your landlord about who is responsible for clearing the snow.

Placing that snow in the street can result in fines between $50 and $300.
