Police say they arrested 31-year-old Michael Stonebraker of Newark on Saturday. Stonebraker faces burglary related charges.
Police say he attempted to break into a Scottfield home. At the scene, officers found a set of keys - evidence they say is "rarely found at burglaries."
A canine team followed fresh footprints in the snow into a wooded area. Meanwhile, other officers used the key fob found at the scene to see if they could remotely unlock any cars in the area. They found Stonebraker's car parked nearby.
Police say Stonebraker, who was carrying a flashlight, told the canine unit that he was searching for his keys, but did not mention the burglary attempt.
