Secretary of State Jeffrey Bullock announced Tuesday that William Peterson Jr., currently the director of Sunrise Senior Living Center in Wilmington, will start on March 8.
Dean Reid resigned from the position in October after government inspections turned up shortcomings in patient care.
Bullock says Peterson has 23 years of experience in state and private-sector long-term-care facilities. Peterson has been a licensed nursing home administrator for more than 16 years and is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators.
