Around 8:00 Wednesday evening Chester police responded to 2100 block of West 3rd Street on a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival officers found a 49-year-old man, identified as Charles Johnson of that address, seated on the floor with a large quantity of blood on his body.
Investigators determined that Johnson was the victim of an apparent home invasion and was shot multiple times in the legs. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are investigating the shooting.
