It began when an officer tried to make a traffic stop Monday at Terminal Square in Upper Darby. Police say the car, a silver Buick, took off and a chase ensued.
However, the officer initially lost the car when it entered Philadelphia.
He then spotted the vehicle again on Malvern Avenue in the Overbrook section of the city.
Police say he ordered the driver to get out, but the suspect started to drive toward the officer.
That officer fired three shots, striking the windshield and the side of the car.
The driver then got out and fled into a wooded area. He remains at large.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
