But now we've got more snow. So, it's time to come up with some more ways to keep everyone occupied during the snow day.
One option, of course, is to just give in to the snow and get the kids outside. Sledding's always fun, as is building a snow fort. You can build snowmen or have a snowball fight.
The SnowChuck snowball thrower takes that to an entirely new dimension, promising to let you make and throw snowballs without getting your hands wet.
If you're really creative - and energetic - you can stage your own Winter Olympics. During the last storm, we saw viewers create their own luge or bobsled runs. Or blare some music and have the kids create their own ice-dancing routines.
There will come a point when the kids are too cold, wet and tired to stay outside. Many will likely want to play video games and this is your big chance. Join in and get them to teach you how to play. They'll love being the experts and nothing boosts a kid's self-esteem like beating Mom or Dad!
It's also a good time to bring out your crafty side. There are tons of websites with great craft ideas you can do with items you already have around the house. Why not make a special picture frame for your favorite snowtograph? That way, you can always remember all the fun you managed to have when yet another storm hit our area.
While the snow day might seem to take a while, keep in mind - spring is less than a month away!
