The man and woman were both found about 6 p.m. Thursday buried in the backyard of a home on the 500 block of Berkley Street in Camden.
Autopsies conducted Friday by the Medical Examiner's Office of Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties determined the woman suffered blunt force trauma and was strangled. The man also suffered blunt force trauma and was shot multiple times.
Investigators are still working to confirm the identities of the two victims.
Camden Police received a tip Thursday morning that there were bodies buried behind the home. It appears both victims were buried Tuesday, February 23, and were killed shortly before that.
No charges have been filed in the case at this time and the circumstances that led to the deaths remain under investigation.
