Mrs. Fixit: Painting Preparations

While painting is a fast and inexpensive way to update your home, there are some preparation steps you should take that will save you some headaches down the road.

Paint isn't like a fashion trend, it's a bigger project than trading out last seasons shoes so make sure that you love the colors you're choosing and you're not just following color trends.

Find something that inspires you, something that you want to have in the finished room.

Using an item that you love can help you choose colors you can really live with.

If you're choosing your color from a swatch, remember that the paint on the wall will be a little darker than the swatch so when you're in doubt you may want to go a shade lighter than you think.

If you're having someone else do the painting for you make sure that you check the color after it has been mixed.

The last thing you want is to come home at the end of a long day to find a completely different color than you were expecting.

Some easy preparation to get you ready for your painting project. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
