District Judge Rod Beck in Allentown ruled last week that there was enough evidence for the homicide and criminal conspiracy charges against 30-year-old Andy Reese, of Ahoskie, N.C., and 31-year-old Paul Jones.
The two are accused of killing 22-year-old Maurice Williams, whose body was found in June 1998 in Allentown. Authorities in August charged Jones, who was in prison on unrelated charges, and Reese, who was working in a Virginia meatpacking plant.
A prison inmate and two other witnesses alleged Friday that the defendants and victim were all gang members and the shooting was retaliation for a robbery in New York.
