At around 7:30 p.m., Philadelphia police were called to the scene of a fatal accident at the intersection of Torresdale Avenue And Kinsey Street in the Wissinoming section of the city.
A collision sent the male driver of an ATV hurling head first into the windshield of a GMC Envoy.
A female passenger on the ATV was also ejected from the vehicle.
Police say the ATV was traveling northbound on Torresdale Avenue when it cut in front of the SUV.
A woman claiming to be the mother of the young man who died arrived on the scene shortly after the accident. She fought with officers and pleaded with them to see her son.
Police haven't identified the victims.
The driver of the SUV was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.
Police say the ATVs, which are not street legal, are a big problem in the city and are very dangerous on the roadways.
