A Rhode Island woman is charged with tossing a hot cup of coffee on a Massachusetts meter maid.
Krystle Charley has pleaded not guilty to charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police say the 23-year-old woman threw her cup of hot java at a parking enforcement officer.
The woman was writing a $25 ticket for an expired meter.
The officer wasn't hurt.
A friend who was with Charley says it was the parking officer who was doing the yelling.
Charley was released without bail and is due in court next month.
