Camden police chase ends in crash

CAMDEN, N.J. - March 7, 2010

The crash occurred around 1:15 Sunday morning. The minivan was traveling the wrong way down Empire Avenue with police in pursuit it when it struck several parked cars near the intersection of Baird Boulevard before crossing Baird Boulevard and striking another parked vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The impact of the crash caused the vehicle's engine to catch fire. Police pulled the driver from the crash and placed him into custody. A passenger in his 20s was thrown from the vehicle and taken to Cooper University Hospital for his injuries.

Both males face numerous charges in the crash

Police have not released why they were chasing the minivan.
