Iowa police accuse 77-year-old Howard Switzer of trying to swallow the evidence.
Officers arrested Switzer on traffic charges in January.
Police say while Switzer was in the back of seat of a patrol car, he pulled his stash from his coat pocket and swallowed most of it.
He was busted last week on a warrant related to the pot case and later released without bail.
Authorities note the senior citizen has two previous pot convictions.
