NJ nor'easter 'worst' in PSE&G history

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - March 16, 2010

About 46,000 customers remain without service statewide.

Public Service Electric & Gas has about 39,000, mainly in Bergen County. PSE&G says most will be restored by Wednesday, but some may have to wait until Thursday.

The state's largest utility says the storm was the worst in its history, causing outages to more than 420,000 customers.

JCP&L says it hopes to restore service to about 5,000 customers in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties later Tuesday.

Atlantic City Electric has about 12 customers without power. Most are in Ocean County.

New York-based Orange and Rockland Utilities still has more than 1,709 customers without power in Bergen County.
