Robber steals powerful narcotic at City Ave. Rite Aid
WYNNEFIELD - March 25, 2010
A robber knew exactly what he was looking for when he held up a Rite Aid on City Avenue.
Police sayjust before midnight on Wednesday, the man walked into the pharmacy on the 5000 block of City Avenue in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.
He then demanded OxyContin.
He left the store with five bottles of the powerful narcotic that's prescribed for cancer patients and those with severe arthritis, sickle cell anemia and nerve damage.
On the street, OxyContin is known as Oxy Cotton.
The pills are crushed and snorted, and sell for about a dollar a milligram.
The robber remains on the loose.
There are no reports of any injuries.
