65-year-old Edward Apau, of Middletown, was struck around 6:00 a.m. Thursday along the 1200 block of Cedar Lane Road.
Police say a Dodge truck was traveling northbound on Cedar Lane Road approaching Boyds Corner Road as Apau crossed the roadway directly into the path of the Dodge.
After Apau was hit, the impact knocked him off of the roadway and into a large rock.
Apau was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unknown why he was crossing the roadway, but police say the accident happened in the area of Apau's home.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
No charges are expected to be filed.
