Police spokesman Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh says investigators have not received any tips in the four bank robberies dating back to June, so they're launching a media initiative Friday in hopes of identifying a suspect.
Whitmarsh says the suspect has worn distinctive outfits during the robberies and has brought a different weapon each time. In one, he wore Philadelphia Flyers gear and in another he dressed as a construction worker.
Whitmarsh says the robber wore a surgical mask during one robbery and had bubble gum or chewing tobacco stuffed in his cheek during another.
Whitmarsh says there have been similar suspect descriptions in bank robberies in Pennsylvania.
In fact, investigators in Delaware say the man may be from Pennsylvania, because the crimes happen close to the border.
Anyone with information on this man's identity can call Delaware State police at 302-834-2630 ext. 6 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
