Union drop defender Myrie

CHESTER, Pa. (March 30, 2010) Philadelphia Union have released defender David Myrie, the Major League Soccer club announced today. The 21-year-old started in the Union's debut against Seattle Sounders FC on March 25, logging 78 minutes.

Acquired in the 2009 Expansion Draft from the Chicago Fire, Myrie joined the Fire's senior roster last season as an international and discovery player but did not appear in any games.

Philadelphia Union host D.C. United in the club's home opener on April 10, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel
