Maki Thomas, 24, of the 900 block of 64th Street in Philadelphia, had been wanted in the killing of Quentin Armstrong in Philadelphia on March 19th, 2001.
Thomas was taken into custody Wednesday night.
The New Jersey Casino Unit said Thomas was arrested because he fit the description of someone passing counterfeit bills. As it turns out, Thomas was not that man, but when police ran a background check they found an outstanding warrant in Philadelphia for the murder.
This comes after Thomas managed to get away from police following a chase in November, 2009.
The FBI was serving a search warrant at a medical facility on West Chester Pike in Havertown when Thomas took off. Sources told Action News Thomas was there for treatment of an old bullet wound.
Police say they chased Thomas on I-476, but quickly lost sight of him.
The chase was called off in the area of the Quakertown exit.
