A South Jersey Treasure becomes a magical Easter!

The weather was beautiful so we headed to a little South Jersey Treasure: Smithville. It's on Route 9 in Galloway Township about 15 miles from Atlantic City. I've been there several times and think the quaint, historic village is fun for the whole family. I have friends who have gone there for Easter and I wanted to give it a try. I've sat through many long, difficult meals with my toddler and have learned that the whole family is happier when we get the kids outside.

Simply put: my two year old needs to run - constantly!

So we had a lavish brunch at the Smithville Inn, I ate way too much and it was pure heaven! We sat against the wall of windows overlooking the garden. It's the kind of place you hope your daughter could have her wedding someday! Then we played all day outside in the sun! After the Easter parade with the Easter Bunny, the kids loved riding the carousel and the train. There's a pond where you can ride the swan boats or feed the ducks. We really had a lot of family fun. We didn't get much of a chance to look at all the shops, but they are set in 18th century buildings on the cobble stone streets and boardwalk.

At the end of the day my daughter told me it was the best Easter ever and I have to agree! It's great to see our extended family on Easter, but making these special memories with just our 3 kids was really magical.
