Gun accident leads to woman's death

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - April 7, 2010

It happened around 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and Devereaux Street in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia.

Police say a man was showing off a gun around a small crowd of people after leaving a corner bar. That is when the gun suddenly went off - striking the 22-year-old woman in the chest.

The shooter fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.

There is no word on the identity of the victim or the shooter at this time. Police are investigating.
