The fire broke out just before 3:00 a.m. in a tank area of the quarry, located on Route 309 near Keystone Drive in Lower Gwynedd, Montgomery County.
A single Asphalt tank holding 1000 gallons of asphalt caught on fire and spread to a second tank. No structures were involved.
Heavy smoke throughout the area caused the Montgomery Township police to close Route 309 until 5:30 a.m.
No injuries have been reported.
