The crash happened along Route 13 just south of Route 71 in Delaware City, Delaware, at about 1:45 a.m.
Rescue teams freed the woman from the crash after she was trapped for a time, but she died at the hospital. Her male passenger suffered only minor injuries. No word on either person's identity.
The accident brought down power lines and workers closed Route 13 for repairs to the utility wires.
