2-alarm blaze scorches Delaware apartments

Firefighters battle an apartment building fire in Christiana, Del.

Flames heavily damaged the Harbor Club apartments on Cheswold Blvd in Christiana, Delaware.

It happened around 6:15 a.m. Friday.

The flames forced 17 adults and seven children out of their homes.

Firefighters tell Action News that they had to rescue some residents but everyone was able to get out safely.

The blaze at the 3-story apartment building was put under control in under an hour.

Firefighters had to cut through the roof to put out the flames.

An investigation into the cause is underway.
