Judge to teen in deadly DUI crash: 'This is your fault'

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - April 13, 2010

Austin Ewers, who was 16 at the time of the crash, admitted to being high on marijuana as he drove an SUV with the five boys as passengers back on November 23rd.

The SUV veered down an embankment in East Coventry Township and rolled over.

17-year-old Andrew Case and 16-year-old Michael Cantamaglia were killed.

Before Ewers' sentencing on Monday, Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy told Ewers: "You smoked it. You drove. This is your fault."

Upon hearing that he smoked pot weeks after the crash, she said: "It's disgusting.... it takes my breath away."

Ewers apologized before being sentenced to George Junior Republic, a psychiatric and educational treatment facility for emotionally disturbed youth, located in Grove City in western Pennsylvania.

He also has to pay the cost of burying his friends.
