Councilman Frank Rizzo introduced a resolution recognizing and honoring Dave for his remarkable career in broadcasting.
Dave was there, along with his wife Patty and other family members.
Members of Dave's second family, the Action News team, were also there to offer congratulations.
After the ceremony, Dave told us it was "quite a moment."
"It was a surprise for me, too. I knew it was coming, but when my colleagues showed up and a lot of other people, I had my family with me and Jim [Gardner]'s very kind words... It was a very emotional time for me," he said.
Dave continued: "In our business, words are very, very important and I was struggling to appropriately emote how I felt."
Dave Roberts retired from Action News in December, after delivering the weather and many smiles to viewers across the Delaware and Lehigh valleys for more than three decades.
As for what he's been doing since he left Action News?
"I've just been enjoying myself," Dave said. "Doing whatever I want whenever I want for as long as I want."
