The crash happened around 9:00 am. on Interstate 95 northbound near Route 896 in Newark, Delaware.
Police say a Chevy Cobalt, driven by Robert Ullrich of Elkton, Md., merged onto I-95 from Route 896 and drove alongside the truck.
The Chevy then drifted into the side of the big rig, causing both drivers to lose control. Both vehicles ended up off the road into a wooded tree line.
Ullrich was taken to Christiana Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was cited with Improper Lane Change and Driving with an Expired License.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
