An off duty state capital police officer saw what was happening and intervened.
The officer was shot in the shoulder and a Drexel student was shot in the leg.
"It's the wild west out there I mean you see it everyday. They don't ask questions anymore. It's not about a robbery, it's not about you know it's what they want and the first thing they do is shoot," said Santo Montecalvo of the Citizens Crime Commission.
Both the officer and the student recovered from their wounds.
There is a 12-thousand dollar reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
