It was the second time in two days that Oshkosh police dealt with a wild turkey hiding in a person's garage. And it might not be the last.

Wisconsin wildlife officials say this is the time of year when turkeys venture into new areas to expand their nesting and breeding areas.

A state wildlife biologist tells the Oshkosh Northwestern that turkeys, like other animals, may consider a garage a good place to take shelter.

Police Sgt. Matt Kroening jokes that that's another good reason to keep your garage door closed - not only to prevent theft but to keep turkeys out.

On the more recent call, police used a garbage can and lamp shade to shoo the bird away.
