The birdie in question is an injured young bald eagle.

Experts say it's recovering nicely after being knocked out of the air by a golf ball.

The 7-pound bird was soaring across the fairway of a Florida course late last month when it was hit.

Indian River County animal control officers rescued the injured bird.

Officials at the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center say it's recovering from a broken wing and eating again.

More X-rays are planned in the coming weeks to determine when the eagle can be allowed to fly free.
