The crash happened shortly after 6:00 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Route 130.
Police say a tractor trailer, driven by James Johnson, 52, of Middlesex, crossed the median and slammed into a van driven by Barbara Richards, 42, of Lawrenceville.
A three-year-old, Lea-Jade Richards, was also in the van.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman and child in the van were taken to the hospital for treatment.
