A Vermont black bear got its head stuck in a milk can.

It took a state biologist, firefighters and police about 45 minutes to free the animal.

Fish and Wildlife Biologist Forrest Hammond says the bear was bumping into trees.

At first they tried to use soap as a lubricant to pull the can off.

When that didn't work, firefighters were called to help cut the can away.

The can-less bear was then sent on its way into the woods.
