Mrs. Fixit: Mirror Image

First, make sure that you have a sturdy anchored hanger or bolt to hold your mirror. They're heavy and the last thing you want is for it to come crashing down.

You want to hang the mirror as close to the mantle as you can without it being too far down the wall.

A template can help you figure out the right placement.

You want the tip of the wire to be a few inches below the top of the frame so you can later angle the mirror to see into it.

Next, the wire, you want to use a heavy guage twisted picture hanging wire to hold the piece.

Cut the wire twice as long as you need it and twist the wire around itself to secure the wire in place behind the mirror. once it's secure, hang it in place.

Then take some foam or some rolled bubble wrap and place it a few inches below the top of the mirror so that it tilts when you're standing in front of the fireplace.

Just some tips to get that perfect placement for hanging a mirror above your fireplace. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
