Who shot and killed John Felder?

April 24, 2010 People who knew 42-year-old John Felder say he was a man who went about his own business.

"Based on the interviews that we did, he seems to be a good guy, hard working, family guy and he was liked by a lot of people," said James Bruno, the lead investigator for the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

John lived in the Autumn Ridge Apartments on the 1500 block of Little Gloucester Road in Gloucester Township, Camden County.

At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009, John was headed to work at a barber shop. That's when the unthinkable happened.

"As he was leaving the front door he was approached by an individual. They had a tussle, backed into his apartment door, where he was shot," Bruno said.

John was shot once in the neck and died.

The suspect fled the scene.

"We're not sure if he got into a vehicle, but we are sure he left on foot," Bruno said.

Police believe John was the intended target, but they aren't sure why; nothing was taken from the body or John's home. They hope a $1,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible will give someone an incentive to offer any tips.

"It's important to us to have people come forward so that we can get these people off the streets," Bruno said.
