Delaware State Police say the 16-foot vessel owned by 40-year-old David Whitehair was found Saturday afternoon near Port Mahon. A search involving the state police dive team and the U.S. Coast Guard failed to locate Whitehair or his 17-year-old son, David Jr. The search was halted at nightfall and was set to resume again Sunday.
Police say the two were scheduled to go on a chartered fishing trip Saturday, but it was canceled because of poor weather. Whitehair apparently decided to go out on his own boat with his son.
