Bishop Joseph Galante said St. James in Ventnor, Church of the Epiphany in Longport and Blessed Sacrament Church in Margate will unite as the parish of Holy Trinity, which will be established May 26.
It's the 16th decree issued by Galante in diocesan-wide reconfiguration of parishes announced two years ago to strengthen parishes and improve pastoral care to members.
Church officials say the new parish will serve about 2,900 families. Its seat will be Blessed Sacrament, but the St. James and Epiphany church buildings will be used for worship and each will keep its own name.
