An outage earlier this morning stopped the trains in their tracks.
PATCO officials tell Action News that the power went out just before 8:30 a.m. and was out for about 90 minutes.
Some riders were stranded in trains and had to be evacuated.
PATCO says the source of the outage was due to a series of electrical problems which lengthened the time of recovery.
In a statement, PATCO said it is currently working on a major two year power cable and pole line replacement project which will replace the existing wood poles with new fiberglass poles that will provide long term reliability of the system, preventing such problems.
Some 35,000 riders a day use the service, which travels over the Ben Franklin Bridge.
