The fire broke out at 10:30 a.m. at the Sterling Manor Nursing Center located on North Forklanding Road in Maple Shade.
The fire was quickly brought under control.
Three people were transported to an area hospital. It is not clear, however, if they were patients or employees, or if they were injured during the fire or just needed hospital care because of a pre-existing condition.
The fire affected one wing of the one-floor nursing home. It has not been determined when they will allow people to back inside the building.
