It happened around 3:00 p.m. in the 6600 block of Rutland Street in Northeast Philadelphia.
When they arrived, officers were told that a 10-year-old boy was inside the home when two men forced their way inside.
The child was then bound with duct tape, police said.
The two men left the house and fled. It is unknown if anything was stolen.
Police are on the scene investigating.
