First things first, turn off the power at the circuit breaker.
Now, i'm going to show you how to install my light kit. Remember, each fan and light kit are different so make sure that you follow the directions that come with yours.
Remove the fan switch cup cover by loosening the screws that hold it in place. Then unplug these molded connector adaptors. Finally, take out the center plug from the cup cover so you have a place to thread your wires through.
Remove the lock washer and hex nut from the new light kit. Thread the black and white wires from the light through the switch cup cover and thread the switch cup cover onto the light kit, tighten the lock washer and hex nut in place.
Find the blue and white wires inside the light cup. Connect the blue wire from the switch cup to the black wire from the light kit and the white wire to white wire and then reconnect the adator connectors.
Reattach the cup cover to your fan assembly and make sure that the screws are securely in place. Install the light bulbs. Make sure that you don't go over the wattage directed for your fan.
Thread the fan switch chain through the bowl cap and secure the bowl in place with the threaded finial. Make sure that your pull chain is not touching the light bulbs.
Attach your pull chain exptension and you're all set. Flip the electricity back on and test your fan. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
