Tuesday's announcement of the 2010 Tony nominations set off the usual closing reverberations, particularly for one Broadway show that did not get a coveted best-play nod.
The producers of "Enron" said on the show's website that the lavish docudrama would fold Sunday after a brief run of 15 performance and 22 previews. The play about the financial finagling and downfall of the Texas-based energy company received four nominations, the most notable being for Stephen Kunken, an actor who plays Enron's chief financial officer, Andy Fastow.
Yet there was some positive fallout, too.
"Time Stands Still," Donald Marguiles' play about a passionate photojournalist, did get a best-play nomination, and though it already has ended its limited nonprofit engagement, Manhattan Theatre Club said Wednesday it would bring the play back in September for another Broadway run.
